Soil, climate, watering, and seasonal care tailored for Alberta’s short growing season and variable climate.
Pet safety information
Which plants are safe (or harmful) for dogs, cats, and horses? Help us build a comprehensive reference.
Nursery recommendations
Know a great local source for native plants or seeds? Help Alberta gardeners find what they need.

Contribution guidelines
Original content — rewrite in your own words, don’t copy from other sources.
Cite your sources — books, papers, websites, or knowledge keepers you learned from.
Respect Indigenous knowledge — obtain community consent before sharing traditional knowledge.
Contributors receive credit — full name, first name, or anonymous — your choice.
Editorial review — we maintain voice and verify accuracy before publishing.
Typical review timeline: 1–2 weeks after submission.
